Revise your book with a strategic plan.

You’ve written a book!

Congratulations! You’ve persevered to get that story out of your head and onto the page.

Now you need to know if the words you've written have the engaging effect on the reader you intend. Will your readers love and root for your characters? Does the argument in your nonfiction book make sense? Will they keep turning the pages? Is the story in your mind represented on the page so the reader will not only understand it, but experience it deeply with your characters?

Your first or even second draft might not convey the story, ideas, or experience as you envision it.

When you read your own work, it’s impossible not to fill in the gaps with what you know in your mind. You need feedback to find out if your book resonates with readers.

But finding out what’s working and not working in your book is only the beginning. Then comes the messy work of revision.

The project of revising a book can be overwhelming. Working with a coach to plan and execute your revision can help you prioritize what changes to make and not get lost in the process.

The Revision Blueprint can help you if:

  • Your manuscript or book proposal is complete.

  • You want good quality professional feedback and guidance you can trust.

  • You want feedback that focuses on the story or book as a whole, not how well the sentences are written.

  • You know that something is off or not working about your book and you're not sure what or how to fix it.

  • Your book is getting rejected by literary agents or publishers and you don't know why.

  • You want direction for how to revise your novel.

How It Works

The Blueprint for a Book is a 14-step framework for planning your book from the inside out, developed by Jennie Nash, founder of Author Accelerator. I am certified and licensed to teach this system. There are three versions: fiction, nonfiction, and memoir.

The Revision Blueprint includes extra steps (an assessment of your current manuscript and thorough outline review) that the Planning Blueprint does not.

When you purchase the Revision Blueprint, you will send me your manuscript (or book proposal with sample chapters) and a one page summary of your book. I will send you the full Revision Blueprint workbook, which you will work on while I read your manuscript. We will set a deadline for you to return your completed Revision Blueprint to me.

When I receive your completed Blueprint, I will take two weeks to review it. I will provide written feedback and in-line comments throughout your Blueprint. Then we will meet for a video call to discuss your feedback and next steps.

I will help you prioritize the changes and make a plan for how to revise.

Revision Blueprint Coaching Price: $1975

After you receive feedback, you may want to spend more time thinking through the changes you plan to make. It’s worthwhile to take as long as you need on this planning phase. It’s easier to change an outline than a manuscript!

I would be happy to continue to coach you on your revision plan.

  • “Working with Katelin was incredibly beneficial in helping me to improve my novels. Thanks to her, I have a better understanding about what is working with my book and what isn't. Her feedback was well thought out, thorough, and easy to understand and implement. Katelin's biggest strength, though, is that she cares about your project just as much as you do.”

  • "Working with Katelin helped me wrap my mind around what I am trying to accomplish, and motivated me to make my book the best it can be. Her manuscript evaluation identified the problem areas, clearly articulated why they weren't working, and suggested what I could do to improve them. As a writer herself, Katelin understands the challenge of crafting a well-written story, and her calm and encouraging style made even big problems easier to swallow. She also shared what was working well, and gave tips to make my writing even stronger. She helped me believe I have a story worth telling."
