Write your book

Coaching for finishing your first draft

Ready to write your book?

Perhaps one or more of the following applies to you:

  • Even though you want to write your book, you keep putting it off. You want deadlines to hold you accountable so you actually write.

  • You have an outline or enough understanding of your book to write a first draft, even if it’s messy.

  • You want professional feedback on your pages as you write them.

You’re in the right place!

Writing with a coach or a group of writers makes the writing experience less lonely. All sorts of things can derail us from writing. As your coach, I can help you navigate the messy creative process of writing the first draft.

  • “Before working with Katelin, I struggled significantly with finishing my manuscript, which had become an albatross around my neck that I despaired of ever finishing. Katelin set deadlines, gave excellent feedback, and helped me to chunk the task into small actionable goals. If you have a project that’s been sitting in your ‘someday maybe’ folder, Katelin will help bridge the gap.”

    — Brent Donoho

  • “Katelin helped me accomplish the biggest writing project of my career over the course of several years. Every time we checked in, I left more encouraged about my progress than before, as well as more determined than ever to hit my next set of goals. And for those times when I didn't hit my shorter-range goals, she helped me readjust my plans and channel my energy to keep me on track for the ultimate completion of my project. Katelin understands not only what makes a great piece of writing, but all the factors that go into keeping the writer healthy, creative, and in good spirits.”

    — André Lesperance

  • “Over the years, Katelin has rescued me multiple times from the biggest threat to my writing career--myself. From helping me break down a big writing goal into manageable steps to serving as a sounding board for the inevitable doubts a writer faces, Katelin has provided me with steadfast support through all stages of what is often the lonely and confusing experience of writing a novel! A natural editor, Katelin has an incredible eye for what works in a story and what doesn’t. And beyond her project management and editing skills, she has a rare gift--a true desire to help others bring their stories to the world.”

    — Meg Matenaer

  • “Katelin did an amazing job breaking down what felt like a huge writing project into manageable pieces. She understood the work involved at each stage of the process and set realistic goals to keep me moving forward. When I hit creative blocks along the way, Katelin was compassionate and encouraging, helping me work through the obstacles I was facing. Her detail-oriented, methodical personality mixed with her compassion and understanding of the creative process absolutely helped me produce more writing than I could have on my own!”

    — Andrea Jackson

  • “Katelin helped me create a vision for the content I wanted to create, break the project in manageable parts, then schedule these parts with deadlines. Our zoom calls hold me accountable and help me to refine and grow my vision. Katelin is organized and gentle, but she holds clear and unwavering expectations. With her in my corner I find myself more productive than I ever thought possible.”

    — Marilyn Bousquin
